Applications now open to be a 2025 Show Rep!

A unique opportunity is on offer for two Victorian children, aged 8-12, to take centre stage at the 2025 Melbourne Royal Show as the 2025 Show Reps, with applications now open.

From being one of the first to preview the 2025 showbags and thrilling rides to TV appearances and photoshoots with cute baby animals, the role offers a unique money can't buy behind-the-scenes experience at the 2025 Melbourne Royal Show.

Being actively involved in this iconic Victorian major event is an opportunity like no other. The two chosen Show Reps will immerse themselves in the 2025 Melbourne Royal Show and experience an exciting program of much-loved favourites, all new experiences, innovative content and greater value.

As the Show Reps will act as official spokespeople at events such as the media launches, showbag launch and official functions, the ideal applicants must be enthusiastic and confident.

The application process allows any suitably aged child across Victoria to apply by submitting a two-minute video answering a set of questions, along with the submission of a headshot on the Melbourne Royal Show website.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a casting day, where they will be assessed based on their suitability for the role and the winners selected.

However, it’s more than just some exclusive access to rides and events for the lucky winners, with the winners receiving a prize valuing more than $2500 for each applicant.

Melbourne Royal EGM Marketing Sam Buckley said the Melbourne Royal Show has been a much-loved event for children for more than 175 years, so this year we are giving two children the opportunity to shine and enjoy an experience of a lifetime.

"This year we are giving two children the opportunity to have fun being actively involved in the Melbourne Royal Show, and experiencing the iconic event in a way that very few ever can,” he said.

"Being chosen as an official Show Rep is a kid's dream come true, and we can't wait to see the talent that comes through."

Applications for Show Reps open today, Tuesday 25 February and close Tuesday 18 March, with the winners to be announced at the launch of the 2025 Melbourne Royal Show in August.

The Melbourne Royal Show will run from September 25th to October 5th at Melbourne Showgrounds.
