Sheep Breeders Shine at the 2024 Melbourne Royal Sheep Competition

The Melbourne Royal Sheep Competition, held from Thursday 26 to Friday 27 September at the Melbourne Royal Show, celebrated the finest achievements in sheep breeding from across the region. This prestigious event, with over 150 years of tradition, continues to unite seasoned breeders and aspiring farmers in a celebration of excellence, innovation, and dedication.

Attracting participants from Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland, the competition showcased an impressive variety of wool, dual-purpose, and meat breed sheep. The 2024 competition marked a milestone for Suffolk breeders Bruce Rolfe and Douglas Scott from Oberon Stud, whose exemplary efforts earned them the title of Interbreed Championship Ewe winners.
