Victorian Aimee Bolton awarded RASV’s Youth Travel Scholarship

The scholarship application process includes submitting an application answering selection criteria and a panel interview, as well as competing in either the Sheep, Beef Cattle or Dairy Competitions at the Royal Melbourne Show.

Miss Bolton is currently completing a Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.

Aimee has grown up with stud and commercial cattle, showing them at Royal and country shows from a young age. Passionate about giving back to the beef industry, Aimee has been actively involved in the judging of the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Carcase Competition and has begun a number of initiatives focused on promoting self-development and helping other young people gain confidence in the agricultural space.    

Thrilled about her win, Aimee plans to use the scholarship to study different areas of the beef industry and youth engagement throughout North America.

“I am so excited and honoured to have received the RASV Youth Travel Scholarship,” Miss Bolton said.

“The RASV has granted me the wonderful opportunity to be involved in the Royal Melbourne Show and give back which is so important to me. I cannot thank the RASV enough for this opportunity that will allow me to experience the industry on a global level and help me continue to develop personally and professionally as well as bring back new exciting initiatives for the youth programs over here.” 

RASV CEO Paul Guerra said the scholarship is a great way to recognise young people working and studying in the industry and give them the opportunity to continue building their skills.

“The Youth Travel Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for young people to keep building their skills in their chosen area and expand their networks on a global scale,” Mr Guerra said.

These scholarships help promote and support a young person’s chosen career in agriculture and we are excited to be able to promote and support youth in the industry.”
