Meet Alexandra Pattinson
Alexandra was born and raised on her family's 4th generation beef and wool grazing property in the Macedon Ranges, which Alexandra was exposed to livestock production systems at a young age.
Mustering on horseback, helping in the cattle yards or at shearing, she developed a love for agriculture. But growing up in a small town during the millennium drought she also experienced the challenges faced by farmers and the importance of community.
Fast forward a few years, after completing a Bachelor of Science and a master's degree with a research dissertation on maternal behaviour in cattle, Alexandra moved to South Gippsland. She has connected with her new farming community in organising a young farmers challenge through involvement with the Foster and District Agricultural show committee.
Alexandra is excited to continue her personal and professional involvement in agriculture, in particular championing rural and regional women.
