A Blue Ribbon Celebration of Australian Equine Excellence 

The opportunity to compete for a coveted Blue Ribbon in the Horses in Action arena is here, with nominations for the 2025 Melbourne Royal Horses in Action Competition opening on Tuesday 29 April. 

Get ready for 11 action-packed days of competition in 2025 and connect with the equestrian community as you showcase your skills and horses in the arena. 

Melbourne Royal has listened to its passionate equestrian community and driven by valuable exhibitor feedback, the 2025 program has streamlined operations and improved facilities to ensure an enhanced exhibitor experience. 

For our returning champions and seasoned participants, Melbourne Royal is thrilled to share some exciting updates designed to further elevate your experience. 

Mark your calendars for exciting feature days 

The competition will kick off with four days of Show Jumping, once again featuring some of the top rider and horse combinations in Australia. 

The prestigious Prince of Wales Cup returns on Sunday, 28 September, followed by a full day on Monday, 29 September dedicated to the power and skill of heavy and light harness events – shining a spotlight on the strength, grace and technique of horses and handlers. 

Celebrate equestrian's rising stars on Tuesday, 30 September! Our special Kids' Day showcases the best young talent – a great day for the whole family. 

The competition will culminate with the iconic Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout Event on Friday, 3 October. 

Important information regarding stabling and lockers 

Melbourne Royal is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all our exhibitors and their animals. Please take note of the following changes to stabling and locker locations: 

• All lockers are now located in the Clydesdale Pavilion. 
• Most stables will be in Building 6 and the area opposite. 
• Limited stables will be available in the Clydesdale Pavilion.
