When is the Melbourne Royal Show?

The Dates for the 2024 Melbourne Royal Show are 26 September – 6 October 2024.

Can I attend judging?

Due to the current Avian Influenza outbreak in Victoria, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition for 2024. This decision is based on guidance from Agriculture Victoria in consultation with the Victorian Poultry Fanciers Association, and our commitment to prioritising the health and safety of the Victorian poultry industry and our exhibitors. We greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back when the Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition recommences in the future.  

When do entries open / close?

How can I enter the Poultry Art Competition?

In a show of camaraderie between competitions, the Art, Craft, and Cookery competition has graciously offered to incorporate the poultry art classes into their event this year. If you are still interested in participating in the poultry art classes, you can enter through the Art, Craft, and Cookery competition. The classes available are: 

Poultry Artwork 

Exhibits may be submitted in paint, drawing, charcoal, etc. 

Size: Not to exceed 100cm x 100cm, including frame. 

Poultry Photography 

Any photographic medium, to be presented on mount board, not framed. 

Size: Not to exceed 40cm x 50cm (16" x 20") including mount board. 

Poultry Artwork Other 

May include tapestry, ceramic tiles, pottery, etc. 

Size: Not to exceed 50cm in any direction.
