The Melbourne Royal heritage collection is accredited through the Museum Accreditation Program (MAP). The collection, registered under the organisation's former trading name of The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Limited, is recognised as displaying both state and national significance. The collection dates from the late 1800s to the present and includes trophies, photographs, badges, sashes, maps, costume, saddles, furniture, certificates, archival records, showbags, artwork and ephemera.
