Garryowen Trophy Winners
The Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout is one of the most prestigious equestrienne events in Australia.
The trophy is awarded annually to the winner of one of the most prestigious equestrienne events in Australia, the Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout. The competition is named after three-time Royal Melbourne Show champion saddle horse, Garryowen, whose owner Violet Murrell died tragically whilst trying to save Garryowen from a stable fire in 1934.

Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout Eligibility
- All Equestriennes, 18 years of age and over, competing in a class at the Melbourne Royal Show are eligible to enter for this trophy.
- Exhibitors may only nominate one exhibit to compete.
- Competitors must be mounted on Exhibits over 14 hands.
Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout Judging Criteria
The Garryowen is judged on a point system with one judge assigned to one criteria. The scale of points are:
- Conformation and Soundness – 50 points
- Manners and Paces – 40 points
- Riding Ability – 50 points
- General Appearance – 20 points
- Saddlery – 20 points
- Costume – 20 points
