Harold Popple membership badges
Harold Thomas Popple was a lifelong member of the RASV. He joined in 1933 and continued his membership until 2010 – 78 years in total. Harold passed away in 2010 at the age of 103.
Harold Thomas Popple was a lifelong member of the RASV. He joined in 1933 and had a continuous membership for 78 years until 2010 when he passed away at the age of 103.
Harold's daughter, Joy Parker, donated her late father's entire collection of membership badges to the RASV – over 100 members/guest and ladies badges. Harold had diligently sorted and stored the badges by decades in envelopes and each envelope was inscribed with the details of every badge.
Harold was from an East Gippsland farming family who came to the Show every year – often meeting up for a Saturday picnic with extended family while at the Show.
Lady badges which were also given to each life member. The paper card life member tickets were phased out in the early 1950’s.
