Vale Rob Gaylard Melbourne Royal Community
The RASV Board, management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Mr Rob Gaylard. Rob had a long association with the RASV, most notably as the arena announcer for the Horses in Action Competition at the Royal Melbourne Show. The RASV is grateful to Rob for his service and contribution at the Royal Melbourne Show for more than 20 years. Rob will be fondly remembered. Our sincere condolences and sympathy to Rob’s family and friends.

Vale Margaret McIver Melbourne Royal Community
The RASV Board, management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Margaret McIver, passing away on 21 July 2020 at the age of 86. Margaret was Australia's first Olympic dressage rider, competing at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games.

Message of support from the Governor of Victoria Melbourne Royal Community
Further to the difficult decision that was made by the RASV Board to cancel the 2020 Royal Melbourne Show, I had the privilege of speaking with the Governor of Victoria, Honourable Linda Dessau AC to inform her of the decision. As the Head of State and also as the Patron of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, Her Excellency expressed her disappointment yet understanding and support of the decision made.
