Yarra Valley winery, Giant Steps was awarded the trophy for Champion Victorian Winery, presented by the Victorian Minister for Agriculture, The Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas. This trophy recognises the winery’s top four scoring wines, with Giant Steps coming out on top after receiving four gold medals and the trophy for Best Red Blend with their 2019 Yarra Valley Syrah Carignan Grenache.

While the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards Presentation is officially sold out, you can still join in the celebrations via live stream. Thirty-eight trophies will be awarded as we celebrate Australia's best wines, live from Victoria Pavilion, Melbourne Showgrounds.

Established in 1884, the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected wine shows recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian winemaking.

Judging of the 2021 Melbourne Royal® Wine Awards is set to take place from Monday 15- Thursday 18 November at Melbourne Showgrounds.

Moving forward all of our events, awards and competitions will be branded Melbourne Royal®. The suite of five food and beverage award programs will now include Melbourne Royal® before the name.
