Melbourne Royal is incredibly grateful for the thousands of competitors who competed to win a coveted Melbourne Royal Blue ribbon and the hundreds of volunteers who generously provided their valuable time to assist us present the 2023 Melbourne Royal Show.

Celebrating 175 years, the Melbourne Royal Show remains Victoria’s most loved community event Victoria’s most loved and iconic community event, the Melbourne Royal Show, closed the gates at 9pm, Sunday 1 October, after enjoying one of the most successful Shows in the organisation’s 175-year history.

Attracting the top of the herd, the Melbourne Royal Show Beef Cattle and Carcase Competition has crowned the 2023 winners.

Jessica Stalling's lifelong passion for horse riding, which began while she was still wearing nappies, has culminated in a remarkable victory as she claimed yet another Garryowen Trophy at the 2023 Melbourne Royal Show. Riding Verdict By Direction, owned by lawyer Melissa Giles who also competed in this class on Beyond Reasonable Doubt, this remarkable achievement adds yet another jewel to Jessica's emblazoned equestrian career, marking her as one of the finest in the field.

Drawing the top breeders from across the country, the Melbourne Royal Sheep Competition was, once again, nothing short of spectacular. In the spotlight at this year's competition was the magnificent South Suffolk breed, known for its charcoal-faced elegance and subtly muscular build.
